ביוגרפיה
רוברט רובין קיבל תואר ראשון במדעי ביולוגיה ב-1967 מאוניברסיטת קורנל ותואר דוקטור. בביולוגיה של התא וההתפתחות ב-1973 מאוניברסיטת ג'ונס הופקינס. הוא עשה עבודת פוסט-דוקטורט באוניברסיטת קולורדו ובבית החולים היהודי הלאומי בדנוור, קולורדו. בין השנים 1982-2000 היה חבר סגל במכון המחקר סקריפס. לאחר שנה אחת במכון לה ג'ולה לאלרגיה ואימונולוגיה, הוא עבר לאוניברסיטת ניו מקסיקו בשנת 2002, שם הוא פרופסור במחלקה לגנטיקה מולקולרית ומיקרוביולוגיה. הוא הפך לחצי בדימוס ב-2020.

עבודת פוסט-דוקטורט ב-National Jewish הכירה לי מחלות אוטואימוניות. המשך העבודה בתחום הזה כיוון מחדש את תחומי העניין שלי לאימונולוגיה בסיסית, במיוחד רכישת סבילות מרכזית לתאי T. הפיתוח והיישום של בדיקות אימונו למחלות אוטואימוניות נמשכו לאורך כל הדרך. זאבת סיסטמית וסמים הפכה למוקד מחקר מיוחד. תחומי עניין אלה מובילים להוראה לסטודנטים לתארים מתקדמים ולרפואה בתחומים אלה.
